ACTIVITIES
The Tiger yearbook staff is looking for dedicated individuals for the 2012-2013 school year. If interested, pick up an interest form from Mrs. Cartwright, any yearbook staff member or the counseling office. Pre-registration is right around the corner. Forms are due back to Mrs. Cartwright (Room 251) by January 31, 2012.
There will be a HOSA meeting Monday night, Jan. 30 about Conference-Everything you need to know and do!
HOSA Fundraiser orders and money are due Tues., Jan. 31st. No late orders will be accepted . You may turn them in on Monday at the HOSA mtg.
COUNSELING
SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: Highline Electric Association will sponsor four sophomore or junior students to attend the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp in Steamboat Springs on July 15-20, 2012. Your parent or guardian must be a member of Highline Electric Association and your application must be received by February 1, 2012. Come to the counseling office for more information.
A representative from Northwest Kansas Technical College will be here at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. If you would like to meet with this representative, please sign up in the Counseling Office.
SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: Frontier of Science Institute is a 6-week summer program located at University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Participants will have the opportunity to explore STEM career opportunities, assist with on-site field studies and conduct in-depth scientific research. Scholarships are available and application deadline is March 5, 2012. Come to counseling office for more information.
The 2012 Summer Health Careers Institute is a 7-day summer program for high school students interested in a health career. Students will have the opportunity to explore various medical health professions, tour health care facilities and shadow a health professional at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Participants will be provided room and board and all meals and activities are provided. Applicants must be 16 by June 1, 2012, and cannot be 18 at the time of the program. Applications are available in the counseling office or click on this link and must be received by April 6, 2012.
Junior boys are invited to apply for the 2012 American Legion Colorado Boys State program. This program is conducted on the campus of Colorado State University at Pueblo from June 3-9, 2012. Online applications are accepted through April 30, 2012, at www.CoLegionBoysState.org and additional information is available in the counseling office.
